In the territory of Aidomaggiore, the Giants' tomb of Iscrallotze presents itself today almost completely integrated into the ground, camouflaged among the vegetation and the outcropping boulders of the countryside.
The exterior of the sepulcher appears largely ruined and disconnected, far from the classic image of a soaring stele or exedra, revealing only the summit of the stone structure.
The true surprise is revealed by stepping through the access opening, where the burial corridor still clearly retains its original architecture. Inside, the side walls display rows of large stone blocks neatly dry-stacked, which narrow slightly toward the top and partially maintain the original cover slabs. The gloom of the gallery offers an intimate and evocative atmosphere, allowing visitors to closely observe the interlocking work accomplished by the Nuragic builders.
More than a monument to be admired from afar, Iscrallotze is a site to be discovered up close, where the continuity between natural rock and human intervention captures the essence of an archaic burial protected by the earth.
