A short distance from the town of Sedilo, the Nuraghe Lighei stands out in the plateau landscape due to the remarkable height of its tower, which approaches nine meters.
The well-shaped basalt courses shrink as they rise toward the top, displaying an orderly and compact masonry texture.
Passing the lintelled entrance, the long corridor reveals a surprisingly well-preserved internal architecture. Along the passageway, a guard niche and the helical staircase carved into the thickness of the stone, which once led to the upper floor, open up. The main ground-floor chamber keeps its tholos roof intact and features three large cross-arranged niches, whose symmetry brings great harmony and regularity to the circular room.
In the terrain surrounding the tower lie the remains of the homonymous giants' tomb and traces of the ancient village. Lighei offers one of the clearest and most complete examples of single-tower Nuragic architecture in the Guilcer region, where the structural solidity of the dome and the staircase still stands out today with extraordinary clarity.
