The Aiodda giants' tomb, immersed in the verdant territory of Nurallao, welcomes visitors with a very special monumental charm, representing one of the most fascinating archaeological jewels of the entire Sarcidano region.
The architecture of the exedra immediately strikes the eye for the unique combination of its construction elements, arranged in a semicircle to embrace the ceremonial area. The extraordinary peculiarity of this monument lies in the skilled reuse of ancient Copper Age statue-menhirs, repurposed by Nuragic master builders during the Bronze Age to shape the walls and corridor of the tomb. The large blocks of stone still preserve sculpted reliefs of geometric motifs, daggers, and inverted anthropomorphic figures, creating a suggestive visual and cultural bridge between different eras. The long funerary chamber, originally covered with flat slabs (piattabande), displays an extremely solid and carefully curated laying technique that testifies to the great artisanal expertise of the period's communities.
