The Gorropu Gorge opens up between Urzulei and Orgosolo as a monumental rock canyon, considered among the deepest and most spectacular in Europe.

This gigantic fissure originated from the slow and constant erosive action of the Flumineddu River, which over millennia has carved through the thick limestone matrix with the power of its waters, sinking over five hundred meters between dizzying walls that shelter a unique microclimate and rare botanical species.
The main access points are the Genna Silana pass and the Oddoene valley, which can be reached via a medium-difficulty trek offering extraordinary views over the Supramonte. Entry to the site is regulated and requires a ticket, which includes the mandatory issuance of a protective helmet. Inside, the trail winds among huge polished boulders with varying levels of difficulty, making the experience suitable for both curious walkers and expert hikers.

To enjoy the visit safely, sturdy hiking shoes, an adequate supply of water, and a prior check of weather conditions are essential. Gorropu represents a unique and powerful adventure in the wildest heart of Sardinia, perfect for those seeking to connect with ancestral nature.
