In Sardinia, the Domus de Janas are mystical places, so profoundly ancient that these prehistoric tombs are believed to emanate ancestral energies.
The one at Bruncu Maddeus, dated between 3000 and 2000 BC, is a âdouble-ovenâ Domus de Janas, measuring 1 meter in height and 1.5 meters in width. In modern times, it was used as an air-raid shelter during World War II, and it is just one of the many gems within the vast Archaeological Area of Neapolis, located in the northwest of the municipality of Guspini, along a 70-meter-high rocky ridge in the locality of Santa Maria di Neapolis.
And if that werenât enough, just across the road you can also visit the Nuraghe Bruncu e SâOrcu, peacefully perched on an 80-meter-high hill.
