There’s a beach along the Costa Verde that seems to guard a secret hidden beneath its golden sand. Its name is Su Pistoccu, and it’s far more than just another natural paradise — it’s a place where nature and mystery intertwine in the most fascinating way.
Here, the dunes shimmer under the Sardinian sun, the air is filled with the scent of myrtle and lentisk, and the sea changes color with every whim of the sky. But what truly makes Su Pistoccu unique lies far deeper than its beauty.
It was right here, just a few steps from the shoreline, that in 2011, during an archaeological excavation, researchers unearthed a male skeleton dating back nearly 10,000 years — later named Amsicora, in memory of the legendary warrior who became a hero for resisting the Roman invasion in the 3rd century BC.
Su Pistoccu remains the only beach in all of Sardinia where such an ancient human skeleton has ever been found, preserved by the passage of time and the embrace of the sand. A sign that this corner of the island has always been a meeting point between life and the echoes of the past.
Today, walking along Su Pistoccu feels like stepping into another era — where the wild heart of the Costa Verde still beats free, pure, untamed.
The wind whispers through the dunes, the waves tell stories older than memory, and silence reigns, deep and sacred.
